My new Website is live! I have mentioned this a few times in the past few weeks, and the time has arrived.
I can't tell you just how excited I am. It has taken a while to get to this point, but I think it is worth the wait. But, I can hear you wondering what on earth I am talking about. The website looks exactly the same.
Well, I have not just changed the look of my site, I have also moved to a different platform. The address is the same, but the site is different. But, as with most things, this does mean a few admin changes too.

Lilypad Lake Bundle - Sunset Crane. Another amazing Project using this fantastic new Bundle (save 10%) coming soon to my online store. So calm, but I think so different from the Sailing picture I showed on Sunday.
I was inspired to recreate this project originally made by fellow Demonstrator, Jenny Hall. Jenny is based in the US and is a truly inspirational crafter; please take some time to visit her WEBSITE. I had not thought of using the sponge brayer on Glossy Cardstock before seeing this project, but it is a great effect. Jenny also reminded me that the original idea behind Versamark ink was as a Watermark ink; combine brayer and watermark to get this fantastic result.
I am in a bit of a Home Decor run at the moment because I have been running a stall at local Events and find that boxframe pictures are very popular. Mostly I use frames from IKEA, although this one was found ages ago at a local store. I really enjoy using these as it gives you the option of using 3D elements.

Sunshine over The Waterfront - Inspire.Create.Challenges #018. Yes it is time for another Challenge over at Inspire.Create.Challenges, and it is a theme Challenge of Sunshine.
I fell for the Waterfront stamp set as soon as I saw it in the Spring/Summer Catalogue and am thrilled that it is carrying over to the new Annual Catalogue, it is such a great set and is perfect for the whole year. Obviously today's project focusses on Sunshine, so I have a desert island with beach huts and the sun shining down. I have made the project into a picture, rather than a card, because, let's face it, that is pretty much what a picture is; an image in a frame.
It would be great to see lots of entries in the challenge this time round, it is perfect for everyone. May Craft Box - Just in time for Father's Day, which is on 17th June, and is so often ignored! I know Mothering Sunday is a day that the UK has marked tradtionally for decades (on a totally different day from much of the world - because in the UK it is based on a Tradition), but I do think that our Father's are often ignored. Floral Statements - Hello Again. It seems a while since I last used this stamp set, but it has carried over to the new Annual Catalogue, so I had to break it out again and remind us all of just how fantastic it is.
I have changed it up a bit this time by stamping the 'Hello' on Glossy White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black (I used the Stamparatus, stamp positioning tool from Stampin' Up! - it is like the Misti, but better). By using the Stamparatus I was able to make sure that I got a really black image. Once it was really dry I coloured it using Stampin' Blends.
It is worth remembering that the Glossy Cardstock does not give you quite so much time to move the ink from the pens, so if you are going to try this, and I encourage you to do so, you may want to colour each flower/petal separately so the ink is still 'damp' when you add the next colour. In the video, for speed, I used each colour and then went back with the next - certainly quicker, but not such a perfect finish.

Loving this Lilypad Lake Sailing Picture idea. Let's start with how stunning the stamp set is, but how quick was it to put the picture together. Well the video is under 15 minutes, so allowing for my usual chit chat, oh, and of course I did cut and colour some of the boats in advance, so that probably evens out.
15 minutes to make a stunning framed picture is pretty good going I reckon, and all it took was four blue ink pads (three of which are retiring at the end of the month!), some Daffodil Delight, Memento Ink and Stampin' Blends, which you could substitute with Stampin' Write Markers, but would need to watch the black ink you use - Stazon would be a good choice. Further down the post I have listed the items other than the Lilypad Lake Bundle (because that is not available to you yet, so I would hate you to think it is!)
I love the simplicity of the picture, it is really calming and simple. Using a box frame does mean that you can add some dimension to the piece, which I think makes all the difference. I was delighted to go to a drinks party on Sunday, hosted by some local friends. The weather was incredibly kind on us all, but the event would have been amazing under any conditions.

If you have been following me for even the shortest time, you will know that I LOVE to make boxes, my brain seems to be wired in just the right way for this.
The Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper is so thick that it is almost card, so is perfect for boxes, and paired with matching Cardstock, you can make a beautiful box in no time at all. You know I only do easy, so this box is not complicated, it is made from 6x6" card and paper. I trim the card for the base down by 1/16" - it is a little trick to make sure that the base and the lid will actually fit, rather than being the same size and not fitting.
I made the topper using both dies and punches, so you can see that you can make it either way, and I know that some people like dies and some like punches, so I want you to know that you can make this project with either.

I followed the lnes of the large label bu punching the corners with the 1/2" circle punch, it works perfectly for making the shape follow through to the mat layer. Today I thought I would CASE the sample shown in the flyer so you can see just how easy it is to put together. I have cut a mat for the stamping, which I don't think they did in the sample, but I do like to do it that way, and the Very Vanilla card is in the Bundle, so why not.
The key to this card is to accept that as you build up the stamped layers the middle of your card is going to start to look very messy, but that is fine because we are going to cover it all up. You will see in the video that I did not ink up the full length of the stems of the cluster of flowers, this helps to restrict the amount of mess in the middle, so just a word to the wise on that one.
The sentiment is stamped on a scrap of Very Vanilla and then popped up on Dimensionals to cover up the mess in the middle of the card. I also stamped on the envelopes, just because you can!

I warn you, I am going through a bit of a mini album phase at the moment, so there will be a few coming out over the next few weeks; this is the first, and is my customer gift for those who ordered from me in April as a way to show off the papers.
I decided that the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper would be perfect for this first version as it is a heavier weight paper (it is almost a card weight) and is beautiful double sided paper, which you need for this project. This is not a new project, there are any number of them on YouTube, but it is worthy of repeating, in my opinion. You only need one sheet of paper, just make sure that both patterns work in any direction or it will look a little odd. There are just a few scored lines and one cut, a small amount of fairly easy gluing and that is pretty much it. I have added a magnetic closure (I used larger magnets than I usually do, so these are 1cm x 1mm, rather than my usual 8mm x 1mm), but you could easily use a belly band or ribbon closure instead.
This is probably a project you need to watch the video for in order to fully understand how to put it together a it is easy to watch, but complicated to explain - I will try further down this post.
