Sharing With Friends on Friday - #193

Over the past few weeks I have been making rather a lot of jam, and quite a bit of fruit gin. There is so much of the former, that I really should pass some of it on to friends, unless I want my waist line to expand a bit too much! Time for some pretty labels then.

This is the design I came up with, very simple, but very pretty (as you would expect from a stamp set called Label me Pretty!)

Welcome back to my blog. Today I have a tenuous Thank You project. This is more of a Congratulation or Announcement, depending on whether you are the proud parent sending or receiving, but it was so cute, I just had to share this with you.

As soon as I saw the Bundle of Love papers at our Demonstrator only event in Amsterdam in April, I knew I was going to 'need' lots of this paper, it is just so gorgeous! Very Vanilla and Gold Foiling are a match made in heaven, then add the option of Blushing Bride or Soft Sky, and it is just beyond perfection.

Add a bit of gold heat embossing and, well what more can I say? Quick, easy, stylish - PERFECT!

Don't even ask why I am late posting this, it is a long story. Needless to say I am not going into that.

I have had such fun playing with wet watercolour paper and these leaf stamps, and just watching everything wick across the paper; it is almost as good to watch as heat embossing.

Add a few die cuts, and you are good to go. So easy, and great for this time of year.

Ribbon Cutting Made Easy - #190

I run face to face classes and one of the most time consuming parts of that is getting the project kits put together, particularly getting the right length of ribbon for everyone; enough, but not too much is the key.

It was one of those lightbulb moments when I thought that if I cut cardstock the size I wanted the ribbon then all I needed to do was wrap the ribbon round it and cut. Cut a few from the backs of your Designer Series Paper packaging, write the sizes on them, attach a ring. Done!

Such a simple and time saving way of doing one of those jobs that just need to be done.

This was more than a little scary! - #189

I am beginning to think I should do a bit more planning for Make it Up Monday. Just hoping a project will come together is not great for my nerves, even if I am really pleased with the results!

This was the first time I had inked up the Orange Blossom Stamp set, and I had not realised just how many occasions it is perfect for. There are perfect sentiments for Thanksgiving, general Thank Yous, Friendship and so much more.

Although the circle stamp is, I think, meant to be an Orange (the name of the set is a clue I guess), I think it makes a perfect Apple too, which is what I was aiming for here. I can see myself doing a few more projects with this set in the coming weeks!

When I See a Bandwagon I Jump Aboard! - #188

I have seen so many projects that use the beautiful new Leaf Punch to make a wreath, that I felt I had to jump on the bandwagon and give it a go.

It is actually quite straightforward, it is just a case of spreading the punched pieces around a circle. It is probably easier if you don't have to use a particular number, as in these projects, but even that is not difficult; it is just spacing.

Although it takes a little time with all that sticking, the finished effect is stunning. I really hope you give this a go, just choose your colour scheme and off you go.

Merry Little Labels Just For You - #187

Earlier this week I was at an event where I was asked to show people how to make some Christmas Tag, so of course, Merry Little Labels sprung instantly to my mind and I created a whole set. On the night I just showed the two that I am showing you today. They are the same tag really, one is just a stepped up version of the other.

I think the ladies really enjoyed making the tags and were surprised by how adding a few little extras, you can turn a simple tag into a really special tag. Now I should confess here that I love wrapping presents and always have, so my idea of a simple tag may not be the same as everyone else's. I tend to spend a whole day wrapping my Christmas Presents because I want the recipients to be able to enjoy the outside as much as the inside. At Christmas in particular, presents are on display under the tree for quite a few days, so you want them to look good - don't you?

I hope you enjoy these as much as the ladies did - oh and they were particularly impressed with the wonderful Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, just one punch and you get such an amazing result. Brilliant!

Sharing Wine with Friends today - #186

There is a part of me that is trying to avoid Christmas still for a while, so I am looking at some of the products in the Autumn/Winter Catalogue that are not strictly Christmas themed; today is the Half Full set. This does have a couple of Christmas sentiments, but most are not at all. It is a great set for both Feminine and Masculine cards, just change up the colours and you are good to go. Keep it simple and clean, like my projects today, or go a bit wild with your colouring of the images.

I am really pleased with how both versions turned out, I really like the clean lines and I am not sure I have a favourite. I am looking forward to having a bit more of a play to make a few 'artistic' cards next. I can see water colouring and fussy cutting coming here sometime soon.

Half a Thank You on Thursday - #185

This is the first time I have used one of the new Acetate Card Boxes from the Autumn/Winter Catalogue and I am very impressed with the quality - way wouldn't I be, it is Stampin' Up! after all. But they are very 'solid and can withstand a lot of beating up, including cutting in half. For which idea, I must thank Dawn Griffiths who posted a video last week about what she had done with them - take a look HERE.

So, this is my homage to her ideas. BUT please be aware that North America have different dimensions for their boxes to accommodate their standard card size, so if you are visiting my blog from the other side of the pond, please be aware of this before you cut into your favourite card stock.

This is a very quick project, so I do hope you give it a go, and of course you can adjust where you cut your box to allow for your favourite sweet contents.
