If you have been following me for even the shortest time, you will know that I LOVE to make boxes, my brain seems to be wired in just the right way for this.
The Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper is so thick that it is almost card, so is perfect for boxes, and paired with matching Cardstock, you can make a beautiful box in no time at all. You know I only do easy, so this box is not complicated, it is made from 6x6" card and paper. I trim the card for the base down by 1/16" - it is a little trick to make sure that the base and the lid will actually fit, rather than being the same size and not fitting.
I made the topper using both dies and punches, so you can see that you can make it either way, and I know that some people like dies and some like punches, so I want you to know that you can make this project with either.

Today I thought I would CASE the sample shown in the flyer so you can see just how easy it is to put together. I have cut a mat for the stamping, which I don't think they did in the sample, but I do like to do it that way, and the Very Vanilla card is in the Bundle, so why not.
The key to this card is to accept that as you build up the stamped layers the middle of your card is going to start to look very messy, but that is fine because we are going to cover it all up. You will see in the video that I did not ink up the full length of the stems of the cluster of flowers, this helps to restrict the amount of mess in the middle, so just a word to the wise on that one.
The sentiment is stamped on a scrap of Very Vanilla and then popped up on Dimensionals to cover up the mess in the middle of the card. I also stamped on the envelopes, just because you can!

I warn you, I am going through a bit of a mini album phase at the moment, so there will be a few coming out over the next few weeks; this is the first, and is my customer gift for those who ordered from me in April as a way to show off the papers.
I decided that the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper would be perfect for this first version as it is a heavier weight paper (it is almost a card weight) and is beautiful double sided paper, which you need for this project. This is not a new project, there are any number of them on YouTube, but it is worthy of repeating, in my opinion. You only need one sheet of paper, just make sure that both patterns work in any direction or it will look a little odd. There are just a few scored lines and one cut, a small amount of fairly easy gluing and that is pretty much it. I have added a magnetic closure (I used larger magnets than I usually do, so these are 1cm x 1mm, rather than my usual 8mm x 1mm), but you could easily use a belly band or ribbon closure instead.
This is probably a project you need to watch the video for in order to fully understand how to put it together a it is easy to watch, but complicated to explain - I will try further down this post. I keep seeing people fussy cut images from Designer Series Paper, but have not done it that much myself. I have done some today as both sets of DSP lend themselves to this, and it is a great way to use some small pieces of leftover paper. Just watch TV as you do the fussy cutting and you will find that it takes very little time at all - just don't watch something with sub-titles!!!
I have trimmed down one of the Pearl Doilies so it is nearer the size od the small silver one, I have also changed the layout of the Share What You Love version a little as it seemed to lend itself to a slight change.

I have said it before, but if I see a bandwagon going past, I am very happy to jump on board and the Impossible Card is one of those.
I have seen a number of projects using this fun fold, but from what I can find, this originates from a card trick, not from a crafting trick. All I know is that it is really clever and incredibly easy as fun folds go. I have seen some quite complicated ways of measuring and cutting, but the only two measurements you really need are the middle on both edges, everything else you can just do as you wish. In the video I show you a variety of sizes, so do take a look at these.

I am often asked about my nail varnish (which I have a very small - NOT - collection of). The vast majority of my collection is from Nails Inc. I love their quality (I think of them as the Stampin' Up! of the Nail Varnish world), but it is the amazing selection of colours that first attracted me. I think I could find a colour in their collection to match all of the colours Stampin' Up! has. Today's project is a box to hold two of their bottles of varnish and it is really cute. The final box measures 2 x 1-1/2 x 2-3/4", but as the bottles are in imperial sizes, it does mean that a metric conversion is not really practical, so I havn't done one.
