The Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper is so thick that it is almost card, so is perfect for boxes, and paired with matching Cardstock, you can make a beautiful box in no time at all. You know I only do easy, so this box is not complicated, it is made from 6x6" card and paper. I trim the card for the base down by 1/16" - it is a little trick to make sure that the base and the lid will actually fit, rather than being the same size and not fitting.
I made the topper using both dies and punches, so you can see that you can make it either way, and I know that some people like dies and some like punches, so I want you to know that you can make this project with either.

This weekend sees a number of Birthdays for our family and friends. My husband and a very good friend of ours both have birthdays, and they are both tomorrow. So today I am bring you the box we are using to wrap the present we have got for our friend.
If you have joined me before you probably already know that I love to take something really quite ordinary and turn it into something special. We bought our friend a book that has a theme that we think he will enjoy - it is a mystery set around bell ringing, which is something he has taken up recently. But a book can look a little boring when it is wrapped up, but make a box for it and it becomes something special, in my opinion.
I have said it before, but making a box for a specific item is just basic maths. All you need do is measure in each of three directions and then use these to calculate the size of the card you need and where to score. As you will see in the video, if your measurements and maths is correct, you will get a perfect fit on your box every time. The only trick is to make sure that you either add 1/16" to the lid, or take it off the bottom so that they sit well together, then do all your scoring by turning the card.
I think the final box is perfect for a chap, and the True Gentleman Suite is going to be missed; we don't generally have many products aimed at male projects, so this one has been a nice option for us. This suite is not going to be available in the new annual catalogue, so this is a perfect time to stock up on it, before it goes!!

Happily the lady in question has both a blog and a YouTube Channel. She calls herself Mixed Up Craft and her projects are amazing. This Bag looks complicated, and to be honest it is not that straight forward, but once you get the hang of it, you will be able to make loads of them with ease. I am going to see if I can change the dimensions and make different sizes, which I think could be really cute.

Long Side at top of Simply Scored Score Board - 3-1/2 and 10-1/2"
Short Side at top and the narrow scored piece at the bottom - 3-1/2 and 6-3/4"
Rotate card so the other short edge is at the top and score at 3/4" to the second score line only
Long Side with the last scored line at the top - 1 and 2-1/2 to first score line ONLY, then mark down from this first score line on the edge of the card and the next vertical score line, at 1-1/4". I am often asked about my nail varnish (which I have a very small - NOT - collection of). The vast majority of my collection is from Nails Inc. I love their quality (I think of them as the Stampin' Up! of the Nail Varnish world), but it is the amazing selection of colours that first attracted me. I think I could find a colour in their collection to match all of the colours Stampin' Up! has. Today's project is a box to hold two of their bottles of varnish and it is really cute. The final box measures 2 x 1-1/2 x 2-3/4", but as the bottles are in imperial sizes, it does mean that a metric conversion is not really practical, so I havn't done one.

Last week was the Annual General Meeting for my local WI, and guess what, I am now on the Committee! We played a fun game of Beetle Drive, a game I had never played before, yet I won! It must have been beginner's luck. Why is this important? Because the prize was a Chocolate Easter Egg, which if you know me, is not something that I would eat, but everyone was offered a small egg, some of which particularly caught my eye because they were in Stampin' Up! In Colours; Emerald Envy and Flirty Flamingo! So I had to make a cute little basket for them. One basket for each egg.
The Blossoming Basket stamp set was the obvious choice, and of course it is FREE with a Qualifying Order until the end of the month. It is part of a Bundle with the Basket Weave Dynamic Embossing Folder (which will be in the new Annual Catalogue, but for money!). I stamped it in Basic Grey Archival Ink on Shimmer White Card, fussy cut it out and then them coloured it in using Stampin' Write Markers.
I made a small open top box to house the egg and packed it out with some Ready Shreddy, coloured using alcohol and a few drops of reinker in a Stampin' Spritzer, sprayed onto white, for the Flirty Flamingo, and silver for the Emerald Envy. A bow round the handle and a few rhinestones on the flowers and they were done. And I love them, they are such a great way to package up a small egg. I think they may feature on our Easter Dinner Table this year!

I have to thank the Kitchen Table Stamper in the US for the idea behind this little treat box. She has taken the Lots to Love Box Dies and turned them into a small box in a really easy way. Having fallen in love with the box, I knew this had to be the container for the gift I was going to send to everyone who shopped with me in February, so I trawled the shops and found the perfect sweet treat to go in them; and the colours work so well too. You will have to watch the video to see what it is.
So the box is made with just one of the large die cuts from the set. Add a 1/16" shim to the left side of your score board and then score at 2-1/4 and 2-3/4" (5.7 and 7cm) ,this will form the base of your mini box. All the other details are on the video.
The 'Thank You So Much' sentiment from A Good Day is perfect for customer gifts, and a little bit of bling with the Gold Foil and Gold Metallic Enamel Shapes dresses the box up just enough. Add a bit of ribbon and you are done. I hope my customers enjoy the box and the contents. I certainly had a great time making them while watching a bit of TV.
I really enjoy making my Thank You cards and gifts and send these to everyone that shops with me, however large or small the order, everyone gets the same gift. We seem to be in the middle of the cold and flue season, so I thought I would bring you a way to make the tisues you are going to have to use, a bit nicer to look at. I have used some tissues from our local supermarket, but the principle of how to construct the cover remains the same for all boxes of tissues. If you watch the video you will see exactly how I calculated the dimensions for this particular box.
My Tissue Box was 4-1/2 x 4" wide and deep and 4-3/4" tall. I cut the top 4-1/2 x 4" and two panels for the sides, each cut at 4 + 4-1/2 + 1/2 = 9" Wide and 4-3/4 + 1/2 = 5-1/4 Tall. I scored each side panel, with the long edge at the top, at 4 and 8-1/2". I scored with the short edge at the top, at 1/2" Making sure this is at the TOP of the pattern if there is a rigt way and wrong way up! Take a look at the video for exactly how I did this.

Over the weekend I attended a Team Event, at which I was gifting a reel of Ribbon to one of my Team Members. This was to mark her first Anniversary of joining my Team, so was quite a special occasion.
I like to give my Team small gifts along the way to mark occasions and to remind them how much I appreciate them sticking with me. I had great fun coming up with a slightly different way to wrap this ribbon, and thought I would use the Envelope Punch Board to remind the Team that it can be used for so much more than making envelopes.
This was a quick and simple project to put together, some quick punching, a bit of stamping and that was pretty much it done. The stamp set is the really pretty Southern Serenade, which is a great mix of texture and imagery; it is almost a mini version of Touches of Texture, which is a favourite of mine.

Never one to gift anything without making a cute packaging for it first, I found these mini Shower Gel Bottles and thought they would make perfect mini gifts, but needed a box first. Using items from my March Craft Box, I love how they have turned out, they really are so cute. Which tdo you prefer, the Lemon Lime Twist or the Bermuda Bay?
For once I actually worked out the measurements in both metric and imperial from scratch, so I know they definitely work, although the metric version is a little wider than the imperail version.
