Share What You Love meets Sweet Soiree - Which Wins?

I keep seeing people fussy cut images from Designer Series Paper, but have not done it that much myself. I have done some today as both sets of DSP lend themselves to this, and it is a great way to use some small pieces of leftover paper. Just watch TV as you do the fussy cutting and you will find that it takes very little time at all - just don't watch something with sub-titles!!!

I have trimmed down one of the Pearl Doilies so it is nearer the size od the small silver one, I have also changed the layout of the Share What You Love version a little as it seemed to lend itself to a slight change.

Why Waste a Good Sketch Challenge? Make Two Projects, or Three?

Yesterday I showed you the project I made for the latest Inspire.Create.Challenge, if you didn't see that, please go and take a look HERE

If that project was not for you, then how about this one. I have actually used Designer Series Papers on a card!! WOW, that is not common for me, but I ma trying to be better and actually use it, rather than gaze at it or stroke it. It is meant to be used, and I need to remember that!

Today I am using products from the Sweet Soiree Suite, but although the projects are using the same products, I hope you agree that they look very different. One is fresh and brings hope for spring, the other is more sophisticated.

If you are wondering where I got the Daffodil Delight Metallic Edge Ribbon, the answer is, I used the Silver Edge ribbon and the Dark Daffodil Delight Blend - easy, and now you can make lots of colours, just get the Blends! You can definitely see that they follow yesterday's sketch and if you look at all four cards next to each other (see the video for that) then it is obvious that I have not changed the sketch at all, but you can; flip it, do it landscape, all sorts of changes can still be true to the sketch - why not have a go yourself and then share your project on the Inspire.Create.Challenge site.

The Perfect Tissue Box for all Occassions and Decor

We seem to be in the middle of the cold and flue season, so I thought I would bring you a way to make the tisues you are going to have to use, a bit nicer to look at.

I have used some tissues from our local supermarket, but the principle of how to construct the cover remains the same for all boxes of tissues. If you watch the video you will see exactly how I calculated the dimensions for this particular box.

My Tissue Box was 4-1/2 x 4" wide and deep and 4-3/4" tall. I cut the top 4-1/2 x 4" and two panels for the sides, each cut at 4 + 4-1/2 + 1/2 = 9" Wide and 4-3/4 + 1/2 = 5-1/4 Tall. I scored each side panel, with the long edge at the top, at 4 and 8-1/2". I scored with the short edge at the top, at 1/2" Making sure this is at the TOP of the pattern if there is a rigt way and wrong way up!

I decided it was about time to take a proper look at the cards in the Sweet Soiree Memories and More Card Pack that you can earn for FREE during Sale-a-Bration.
