Beautiful Brusho Peacock and Bling

I really do enjoy using Brushos, so I thought I would mix them with one of the Sale-a-Bration favourites, Beautiful Peacock while the stamp set was still around.

I am really pleased with the result, although using Brusho on an unedited video may not be something I will rush to do again! If I were to make the card again, I would not bother stamping the Peacock before I did the background. 

The stamp set is great with all the options of how to build your favourite Peacock; no two will be alike. I think what makes this card is the addition of the rhinestones and the dots of colour over the tail.

Party Panda Birthday Shaker Card

I never thought I would say this, but I am going to miss these little guys. They really are so cute, in fact almost as cute as the chickens last year.

As we now have extra items available FREE with a qualifying Sale-a-Bration order, I thought I would use one of those products for this card. As the Panda I decided to use has a party hat on (being a Party Panda, of course!) I instantly thought I would grab the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper to use for the card front and mat. If you want to get this DSP pack as a FREE Sale-a-Bration item, remember to use the right product number (I show both below, but take a look at all the free items from the third release on my Catalogue Page).

I have used all our sequins for the shaker elements, including both sequin packs from the Annual Catalogue, and the Gold Glitter Flakes from the Spring/Summer. I apologise to those of you who hate either glitter or sequins with holes in the middle, but I love the combination, particularly with the dotty pattern on the DSP.

I matched the Panda's hat with the colours from the DSP, mounted the whole piece on a Real Red Card and added a Real Red bow from a double piece of the narrow Real Red Ribbon, which has carried over from the Autumn/Winter Catalogue(go to the Catalogue Tab to find the link to see the full list of items carried over).

Lavender and Rose Friends

I have a sneaky suspicion that I am not the only person whole has missed the lovely rose bough in the Lots of Lavender Stamp Set. Do you know, I had not inked it up until I designed this project!

What a waste of a great little stamp, and I love that you can frame a card front with it so easily. The stamp set is a 2-step stamp set, but is so easy to line up, it is a breeze to put this card together. The colour for the main rose is not meant to line up perfectly, which makes it all so easy and I think takes the pressure of getting it 'perfect', which means it is more likely to come out looking right.

I used the Lovely Words Dies for the focal point. These are meant to be cut into the middle of a pice of card, but it is very simple to just cut the word that you want to use. I added multi-purpose adhesive sheet to the back of the card so it was simple to layer up the two die cuts and stick them together.

Of course the really important question is whether you prefer the Garden Green Mat, or the Rose Red? I know which one I prefer.

Joseph's Coat Technique Heartfelt Blooms

I know Joseph's Coat is an older technique, but that does not make it any less fantastic. Add in the magic of the new Stamparatus and you can get some even more amazing results, with lots more control over the colours and where they end up.

Using the Stamparatus means that you can add colour to the stamp (in this project I used sponge daubers to get graduated colours) and then clean your stamp, add Versamark and clear embossing powder, so you only emboss where the colour is. Then cover with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and buff the whole card with some kitchen paper.

Mount your card front onto a coloured mat and a card base and you are done! I did take it a little further by using Dimensionals to stick the mat to the card base and adding some enamel shapes, but you could leave both steps out and have a great project.

You are Simply Amazing

Don't you just love getting free products? I have pretty much only used Sale-a-Bration Items on this card and am so pleased by the result.

I think the colour scheme is an absolute winner too. Who knew that Bermuda Bay would work so well with Berry Burst? May be its because of the alliteration, particulalry when you add in Basic Black. Hey, is that a way to choose colour schemes? Just pick colours that start with the same letter?

On my card I only partially cut the 'YOU' so that it is still attached to the main Black piece and I show you how in the video. If you dont want to try that, you can simply just cut the word and then line it up at the top of your Black piece.

Sweet Blossoming Basket Easter Treat

Last week was the Annual General Meeting for my local WI, and guess what, I am now on the Committee! We played a fun game of Beetle Drive, a game I had never played before, yet I won! It must have been beginner's luck.

Why is this important? Because the prize was a Chocolate Easter Egg, which if you know me, is not something that I would eat, but everyone was offered a small egg, some of which particularly caught my eye because they were in Stampin' Up! In Colours; Emerald Envy and Flirty Flamingo! So I had to make a cute little basket for them. One basket for each egg.

The Blossoming Basket stamp set was the obvious choice, and of course it is FREE with a Qualifying Order until the end of the month. It is part of a Bundle with the Basket Weave Dynamic Embossing Folder (which will be in the new Annual Catalogue, but for money!). I stamped it in Basic Grey Archival Ink on Shimmer White Card, fussy cut it out and then them coloured it in using Stampin' Write Markers.

I made a small open top box to house the egg and packed it out with some Ready Shreddy, coloured using alcohol and a few drops of reinker in a Stampin' Spritzer, sprayed onto white, for the Flirty Flamingo, and silver for the Emerald Envy.

A bow round the handle and a few rhinestones on the flowers and they were done. And I love them, they are such a great way to package up a small egg. I think they may feature on our Easter Dinner Table this year!

Party Panda Tea Time

I found a couple of pieces of Petal Passion Designer Series Paper on my Craft Desk and decided they were crying out to be part of a new project.

The pieces were the same size, 6-1/2 x 3-1/4, so I looked in my draw of goodies to see what work with the paper and found a couple of fruit tea bags, just the right size to work with the paper.

Being black and white, I instantly thought of the Party Panda. I brought in Crushed Curry to match the tea bags. So a few score lines, a little punching and some stamping; tie the whole thing up in a ribbon and it is finished.

These really do make a cute gift and they are so quick and easy to put together, particularly if you make them right, unlike my first attempt!

Stripes meet Stripes - a Match made in Heaven

Sale-a-Bration is coming to an end, so I want to highlight some of my favourite FREE items before they have gone. My Coffee & Card ladies have been really enjoying using the Tutti Frutti Cards, they are so cheerful, which is particularly important when the weather is cold and snowy, as it has been here recently.

Using the Lemon Lime Twist cardbase and the striped image from the new Eclectic Expressions Sale-a-Bration Stamp set in the matching Classic Ink, this is a quick and easy card to put together. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of card using Tranquil Tide Classic Ink and then added some Tranquil Tide Washi Tape across the middle of the card mat (a great way of covering up slightly dodgy stamping!). Add the stamped piece to the cardbase and the card is done.

Inspire Create Challenge Bubble and Fizz Colour Challenge

Welcome to another Inspire.Create.Challenge. Did you have a look at the winning entry from the last Challenge? Wasn't it fantastic?

This time we have a Colour Challenge for you, inspired by four of the colours in the Sale-a-Bration FREE Designer Series Paper that matched perfectly with the Bubble Over Bundle from the Spring/Summer Catalogue; some of the dies even cut out images on the papers!! But enough about that, I have not used any of the products from the Bundle, although I love them and have featured them on a recent video.

My Project uses some of the papers as Mat layers on this card, but the main feature has to be the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper that I have coloured and fussy cut, and the Celebrate You Dies and matching Amazing You Stamps, all products from the Sale-a-Bration Brochures. 'But what are the colours' I hear you say. Well they are:

Don't you just love these? I used Basic Grey for the Cardbase and the shadow on the die cut, Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Write Markers to colour the images and Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight papers for the background. I added Silver Foil for the top layer of the die cuts, added a few Basic Rhinestones and the front of the card was done. I stamped the inside of the card with a few of the sentiments from the stamp set and I was done. To see exactly how I put it all together, watch the video.

Gold Glitter Flakes are a Girl's Best Friend

I bought the Gold Glitter Flakes from the Painted with Love Suite during the Demonstrator Pre Order period, but I have only just opened the pot!!

The pot has been sitting on a shelf looking at me for weeks, making me feel more and more guilty that I bought the Gold Glitter Flakes with all the best intentions, but still had not used them. Well FINALLY I have. I paired these with the Happy Wishes Stamp Set, one of the Level 2 Items during Sale-a-Bration, so FREE with a qualifiying order of £90; and the set is not just beautiful, it is huge.

This is a very simple card to make, but none the less stunning to look at. I love the 'not quite' clashing of the Early Espresso and Flity Flamingo Cardstock, and with the Gold embossing and the Glitter Flakes, well I hope you agree it is stunning.

One note of warning, the Glitter Flakes do get everywhere, so if you can try to keep track of them, that is probably a good idea. Oh, and they seem to grow, if you pour lots out, there seem to be even more to get back in the pot, which is a good thing, right?
