Retiring Product Blog Hop - This is Going to be FUN!

WOW, this is going to be such fun. Forty five of us are hopping around the world sharing inspiration, temptations and goodbyes to retiring products!
Assuming nothing has changed since we set this up a few weeks back, you have either started here with me, or joined me from Danielle Bennenk in The Netherlands.
Did you spot my new Logo in the image above? This will become more evident in the coming weeks!
I have a whole list of items I am going to be really sad to see the back of at the end of May (assuming they last that long!), including the Sweet and Sassy Heart Dies and the Lots of Label Dies, but I am also going to be sad so say goodbye to Mixed Drinks, one of my first stamp sets, Bird Banter, We Must Celebrate and, a real surprise for me, Little One. And it is Little One that I am concentrating on for this post.
In the video I made a very quick, and incredibly cute, card in mere moments. Now I accept that I have card bases and mats pre cut, but that was all I had ready, the rest just came together in moments. Some quick stamping, a bit of very quick colouring, add a few Glitter Gems and it is done. Seriously, is this not a really cute card made in a matter of moments?

Further down this page you will find the links to the others taking part in this Hop, please do take the time to have a look at what they are going to miss and some more inspiration along the way.

REMEMBER, for every £25 you spend in April AND use the Hostess Code, you will be entered into a draw to win the Many Marvellous Markers, so if you place orders of £50, you will get 2 entries, £75, you will get 3 entries etc. BUT if you place a single order of over £150 and opt to be your own Hostess (which means you pick how to spend your Rewards) you will only get ONE entry into the draw. Please note that this is a gift from me, and is non-returnable. The usual Customer Gifts will not be effected by the Prize Draw, so if you use the Hostess Code you will get a share of the Rewards, as usual. EVERYONE who shops with me will receive a handmade card and gift in the middle of the following month, regardless of how much you spend.

If your order is over £25 (plus P&P), please use the Hostess Code:

True Gentleman Birthday Card

Yesterday I showed you the box I made for the book my husband and I are giving a friend of ours, whose birthday is today. Now I have the matching card to go with this.
True Gentleman Birthday Card
This is a very straightforward card, but with the benefit of hindsight, I chose the wrong patterned paper for it - the rigt suite, just the wrong pattern. Having decided to add a detailed die cut, I would have been better with one of the plainer patterns, but I had already got in my mind that I was going to use the same pattern I used for the box......
I added multi-purpose adhesive sheet to the back of the Champagne Foil (which matches this suite so well), so adding the die cuts was a dream, even for the detailed 'Happy Birthday', just remember that wieht the added thickness you may not cut all the way through to the back of the adhesive sheet, but you will still cut through the foil easily, so that is no problem. Oh, and did you spot it is our friend's 60th?

Quick, easy, and with the right pattern of paper, really effective!! Oh, and, the Large Numbers Dies are retiring, so please, if you want these, get them NOW
DON'T FORGET

True Gentleman Birthday Book Box

This weekend sees a number of Birthdays for our family and friends. My husband and a very good friend of ours both have birthdays, and they are both tomorrow. So today I am bring you the box we are using to wrap the present we have got for our friend.
True Gentleman Birthday Book Box
If you have joined me before you probably already know that I love to take something really quite ordinary and turn it into something special. We bought our friend a book that has a theme that we think he will enjoy - it is a mystery set around bell ringing, which is something he has taken up recently. But a book can look a little boring when it is wrapped up, but make a box for it and it becomes something special, in my opinion.
I have said it before, but making a box for a specific item is just basic maths. All you need do is measure in each of three directions and then use these to calculate the size of the card you need and where to score. As you will see in the video, if your measurements and maths is correct, you will get a perfect fit on your box every time. The only trick is to make sure that you either add 1/16" to the lid, or take it off the bottom so that they sit well together, then do all your scoring by turning the card.

I think the final box is perfect for a chap, and the True Gentleman Suite is going to be missed; we don't generally have many products aimed at male projects, so this one has been a nice option for us. This suite is not going to be available in the new annual catalogue, so this is a perfect time to stock up on it, before it goes!!

Painted Glass Very Mini Notecards

I was thrilled when the 3 x 3" envelopes carried over from the Autumn/Winter Catalogue, they are so cute and it is such fun to make these mini projects.
Painted Glass Graceful Glass mini card
I thought I would tempt you with a couple of the new products you can start adding to your Wish List of new Products when the new Annual Catalogue goes live in about 5 weeks. As with yesterday's project, today's is made with products I was lucky enough to get when I was at OnStage earlier this month, from the Graceful Glass Suite. The Vellum is stunning, already embossed in shiny black, and perfect for colouring with Blends or Markers (be aware that the Markers will make the vellum curl a little, but they work beautifully.
These cards are so quick and easy to put together, just cut a piece of card at 3 x 6" (watch the video for a tip on the best direction to do this in - seriously, it makes a difference!), fold it in half and colour in your design in a couple of colours, or lots. add a stamped sentiment and some metallic thread and it is done, so quick and so effective.

As the products are not available to buy yet, there is no shopping list from me today, but that is no reason to not fill your shopping basket with retiring items before they go, particulary this month.

For every £25 you spend in April AND use the Hostess Code, you will be entered into a draw to win the Many Marvellous Markers, so if you place orders of £50, you will get 2 entries, £75, you will get 3 entries etc. BUT if you place a single order of over £150 and opt to be your own Hostess (which means you pick how to spend your Rewards) you will only get ONE entry into the draw. Rhino Poloroid Retiring Snap Shot

Today I am casing myself with one of my favourite card designs - the Poloroid shot. I love this idea when there is an image that could have been taken as a photo, it is just such fun!
Animal Outing Delightful Daisy Card
This layout also shows off some of the retiring Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper, which was one of the first packs I bought from the 2017-18 Annual Catalogue. The designs I have selected for this are 'B' sides and set off the main feature perfectly.
I was lucky enough to get the stamp set when I attended OnStage earlier this month, and what a month. Is it really less than a month since OnStage, it is hard to believe, but it is only about 3 weeks ago. I love this stamp set and can see so many fun projects already, and that is without having access to the matching dies and DSP. Trust me, the DSP is really cute, there are even more little animals in it, and they are all so well drawn, perfect fo colouring either with Blends or Markers.

Chinese Fruit Box style Handbag Gift Box

Do you think I have enough descriptions in the heading? When I first saw a picture of this box I knew I had to track down who made it and how to replicate it.
Chinese Fruit Box style Gift Box using Stampin Up products
Happily the lady in question has both a blog and a YouTube Channel. She calls herself Mixed Up Craft and her projects are amazing. This Bag looks complicated, and to be honest it is not that straight forward, but once you get the hang of it, you will be able to make loads of them with ease. I am going to see if I can change the dimensions and make different sizes, which I think could be really cute.
Both of the bags I have made are using retiring products, all of which are/were available at the point I shot the video, but as with all retiring itmes, they are only availble while stocks last, so if you want any of them, please jump over to my online store and fill your baskets. The basic dimensions and scoring instructions for this bag are further down this post, but you are probably going to want to watch the video too!

I am working realy hard to try to earn the Incentive Trip this year, which is a cruise around the Greek Islands. Everyone who shops with me is helping to get me just that little bit closer, so if you are in the UK and need any Stampin' Up! supplies, I would be very grateful for your support, just by shopping with me! This month I have a Give Away for people who do, in addition to my usual Thank You.
Jumping on the Impossible Card Bandwagon

I have said it before, but if I see a bandwagon going past, I am very happy to jump on board and the Impossible Card is one of those.
Impossible Card Fun Fold Stampin Up
I have seen a number of projects using this fun fold, but from what I can find, this originates from a card trick, not from a crafting trick. All I know is that it is really clever and incredibly easy as fun folds go. I have seen some quite complicated ways of measuring and cutting, but the only two measurements you really need are the middle on both edges, everything else you can just do as you wish. In the video I show you a variety of sizes, so do take a look at these.
I have given you the dimensions of the card I made further down this post, so you can take a look at these if you are more comfortable measuring everything. I used the Share What you Love Suite for the second version of the card. Remember that as a customer you can get the Early Release Bundles, which each include FREE products, between 1st and 31st May, so not too long to wait - click the picture below for all the details.

This Little Piggy - She Believed She Could...So she did

I had resisted buying the This Little Piggy stamp set, but now that I know we have it for another year, I have succumbed.

It is very cute, and historically my crafting has not been, but the more I embrace 'cute' the more I like it. I thought I would take a slightly different spin on this set (and apologise for the pun on this, which is coming!) and make a spinner card (you see, I told you a pun was coming!)
I love making these, they are really not difficult and need only two bits of special equipment - a couple of small coins, in my case two 1p coins. The slit is easy to make with the Classic Label Punch, the rest of the card is a standard, fairly clean and simple, card design.
I have used a mixture of carrying over and retiring products, all of which are available in the UK at the time of posting this. Obviously as products retire and go out of stock you can substitute others, so there is no excuse to not give this really easy and fun card a try.

Share What You Love Suite - Early release Take 2!!!

Welcome to my blog, if this is your first visit, I am delighted you found me, if you are a returning visitor, thank you for your continued interest and support.
Share What You Love Suite - Early release Take 2!!!
If you joined me yesterday you will have seen that I have started to share projects that use items from the Share What you Love Suite Early Release bundles. Each of the bundles includes FREE product; the larger the bundle the more free product is included. The largest bundle, which would fit very nicely in the Starter Kit, so this is the PERFECT time to test drive that. The Bundle has over £145 of product in it, but as it costs just £118.75, you can add it to your starter kit and still have £11.25 to spend on other products, so could end up with well over £150 of products for an amazinf £99 (including FREE P&P). That is a saving of £60! WOW, so that is amazing!! Click the picture for details of the Bundles.
I am often asked about my nail varnish (which I have a very small - NOT - collection of). The vast majority of my collection is from Nails Inc. I love their quality (I think of them as the Stampin' Up! of the Nail Varnish world), but it is the amazing selection of colours that first attracted me. I think I could find a colour in their collection to match all of the colours Stampin' Up! has. Today's project is a box to hold two of their bottles of varnish and it is really cute. The final box measures 2 x 1-1/2 x 2-3/4", but as the bottles are in imperial sizes, it does mean that a metric conversion is not really practical, so I havn't done one.
Share What You Love Suite - Early release!!!

Are you getting excited to see all the goodies coming in the new Annual Catalogue? I know I was excited to see everything when I went to OnStage a couple of weeks ago, and I was able to order some of it immediately, so you must be super excited!

Well, you could get your hands on some of the new items in just a few days (well actually you could get them now, but more of that in a bit). Stampin' Up! are releasing the very special Share What You Love Suite early, starting on 1st May. To help show you what is included in that Suite and just how versatile it is, I will be bringing you a few projects using some of the products over the next couple of weeks. This is the first:
The two cards are the same fold, but the closures and detailing are quite different; this is definitely one you will want to watch the video.

The Suite is available in 3 Bundles and they each include some FREE products, which is just wonderful. They could all be added to a Starter Kit (in fact they could be added to a Starter Kit NOW and then you would be able to get your hands on even more NEW product early with the Demo only Pre-order starting on 2nd May!!!). If you were to add the largest bundle to the Starter Kit, because of all the free products in the bundle, you could get over £150 of product for just £99 including free P&P!!! The details of the Bundles are here (this will open a pdf in a new window):
The video showing how to make the card and how I measure the pieces is just below. I am not icluding all the dimensions on this post as the video explains that I don't always have actual measurements, which allows a bit more flexibility in design. I warn you that it is one of my longer videos, but does include lots of additional information.

Graceful Garden and Petal Garden are NOT meeting Hedgehugs

I have another, and probably the final for a while, CASE card from the OnStage Swaps I was lucky enough to get a couple of weeks ago at our Demonstrator only event.

The card I received was made by the very lovely Marguerite Moran. She used the Petal Garden Designer Series Paper and the Hedgehugs Stamp Set, which I have, but I wanted to use the matching stamp set and an easy two tone stamping technique.
Graceful Garden and Petal Garden are NOT meeting Hedgehugs
When you look at the cards side by side you should be able to see where I got the inspiration, but they look very different, well I think so, what about you?
The layout is not one I would instantly think about, but I like it for  change and I decided to use the whole of the piece of Designer Series Paper, in place of the Card that was on the original version. I used the Leaf Punch rather than getting out my Big Shot, and am pleased with the finished result.

The Starter Kit is ALWAYS the best deal in the Catalogue and great value at just £99 for your choice of £130 of products (with no additional P&P). Customer Thank You Gifts for My March Marvels

I am always so very grateful to everyone who chooses to shop with me. I know it takes a while to build up trust in someone who is only visible via a computer, so as most of my customers have found me through the Internet I am even more grateful that they not only chose me once, but continue to do so.
Treu Gentleman Customer Thank You Gifts for My March Marvels
This month I have a special little bar of Chocolate for them, at least I hope it is! As many of you know, I can't eat Chocolate, we have a healthy respect for each other, but keep our distance. But I spotted these little bars of Green & Black Velvet Edition and thought I had to buy them for my special group. I was particularly drawn to the colours as they seemed to be perfect for the True Gentleman Designer Series Papers.
Now, my dream is to attract some of the very few Gentlemen Crafters to my Blog, YouTube and, ideally my Team, so these are going to look a little masculine for my ladies, but I still think they work. It was fun to get my Envelope Punch Board out again as it has been a while since I last had a chance to use it.

I used the same 'Thank You' from Love You Still as I used for the Cards, which I featured a little earlier this week, as I wanted them to match a little, but not too much. I wrapped the parcel in Night of Navy Corduroy Ribbon and used the Tailored Tag Punch for the front of the parcel with a little Enamel Shape Heart, just to finish it off.

Inspire.Create.Challenge #016 - Colour Challenge

I think by now you know that I love the Inspire.Create.Challenge Projects. They may be challenges for you, but they are also Challenges for us!

This time is a REAL Challenge, it is a Colour Challenge, using as many of the soon to Retire InColours as possible. I think I have cracked it, as my card does use ALL of them, but it was definitely a challenge. I got the inspiration from Jenny Hall, who has taken part in a couple of our challenges and was a recent Winner. Her work is FANTASTIC, so do take a look at her blog (just click on her name above).
So now you have seen my project, click the image below to go and see all the others. As it is my turn to write the Post for the Group, I have had a sneak peek of all of the projects the other Design Team Members have come up with; they are all fantastic and include Scrapbook pages as well as cards.
I and some of the others have used all of the colours, but some have used just one, or have used just one, but repeated the same project using each of the colours.
We do hope you play along with us this time, remember you have two weeks to submit your project.
