I started my day bright and early, arriving at the coffee shop I use for Coffee and Cards twice a month, at about 9am. I had prepared all the card packs and instructions in advance, which meant that I had the best possible chance of hitting my Cardathon in good time.
However, as I got started I was surprised that my hands were shaking really quite badly. It was therefore a relief to finish the first 50 cards in about 45 minutes.
Below are the designs for the first 389 cards I have made. I have 22 designs in total, making either 48 or 50 of each. If all goes to plan, I should have 1,064 cards made by the end of Sunday. Here's hoping.
If you would like to sponsor me to help motivate me to complete the challenge, please hop over to my Just Giving page:
The money raised will go to the Ronald McDonald House at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. The houses keep families together so children in hospital can get the love and comfort they need. The Houses give families somewhere to lay their heads at night while their child is in hospital. Accommodation is provided free of charge and for as long as families need it, sparing them some of the financial issues that can arise during a prolonged hospital stay.
Come back tomorrow for a further update on my progress.

ReplyDeleteI tried donating from the US, but I got too many pop-ups that I was uncomfortable filling in. I will continue to support RMHC here in your honor instead. Are your hands cramped or blistered yet? I haven't a doubt in the world that you will exceed your goal. I'm impressed by both the cards you're making and your tenacity and skill.
