Preparation is Key! But don't miss the End of Year Sale!

As you may know, I have challenged myself to make 1,000 Christmas Cards over the next 3 days. This is part of the Stampin' Up! UK 10th Anniversary Challenge to make 20,000 over 2 long weekends. This is all in aid of the Ronald McDonald House Charity, which provides a home from home for families with children in hospital, FREE. Some of the cards will be available for the families to use and the others will be sold by the houses to help raise much needed funds.

Earlier this summer I held a drop in event at home. There were 15 of us in total and we made 300 cards over just 2 days. So, I am probably just a little mad to think that I can make 1,000 on my own, even if I have got 3 days. I think the key is going to be preparation. I have designed all of the cards, and I thought I had cut and scored all the bases and mats. Well apparently I can't count. When I checked the numbers I had managed to convince myself that half a pack of A4 Thick Whisper White or Very Vanilla, cut the right size for A6 cards, would be 48 cards. Well there are 24 Sheets in each pack, so cutting them in half, does make 48 bases, but only if you use them all, which is where I managed to go wrong.

However, it did explain why I had so much extra cardstock! Fortunately I spotted my mistake well in advance, so have rectified the problem.

What I did not think about is just what a bad idea dropping my industrial guillotine on my right index finger would be earlier this week. Happily it is not broken, but it is VERY uncomfortable (which is 'stiff upper lip English' for 'painful') and I am just hoping that by the time I start my challenge, it will be OK.

If you would like to support me and my challenge, I would be delighted if you were able to sponsor me. All the money I raise will go to the local Ronald McDonald House in Oxford. Click the picture to find my sponsorship page.

I have donated all of the products for the cards, using some of the income I have earned from orders over the past couple of months.

Over the next couple of days I will try to keep you up to date with how I am getting on, so keep your eyes peeled both here and on my Business Facebook Page here: https://www.facebook.com/oldstablescrafts/
