If you have followed me for any time at all, you will know that I struggle converting measurements from Imperial (inches, feet etc) into metric. I was born in the 1950s, so I was brought up on the Imperial system, and I understand it. I find the metric system really difficult to get my head around, particularly for smaller measurements.
What I have always found annoying is that on rulers that have both measurements, they are on opposite sides of the ruler, working from the opposite end, so I find myself having to flip the ruler all the time. BUT I finally have a simple way of sorting it all out. Using a couple of strips of Grid Paper, I now have a really simple conversion tool. I hope you find this as mind blowing as me!!

DeleteThis is brilliant! I'm a 60s child and was taught both imperial and metric systems, but still visualise measurements in feet and inches. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Gill, happy to share. Feet and inches are just so much easier! Lx
