Craft Show Mini Series continues

You may have gathered that I am attending a number of local Village Fetes at the moment and have been making items to sell at these events. Today I want to show you how to cover note books to turn them into great little gifts.

There are no set measurements for this as it depends on the size of the book you are working with. Mine measure 4 x 3-1/4 x 1/4" (10 x 8.25 x 0.75 cm) so for the main piece of card I would add the height by the depth, so 4 + 1/4, and then a further 1" at least, resulting in a piece 3-1/4 x 5-1/4" (in metric add an additional 2.5 cm, so 8.25 x 13.25 cm). Knowing that the height of my pad is 4", I would score on the long edge of my card at 4", add the depth of the pad (1/4" in this case) and score again, at 4-1/4". Now watch the video to see how easy it is to add the cover to the pad.

The Card and/or Designer Series Papers for the front should be cut 1/4" (0.5 cm) smaller than the front of the pad in two directions, so my first layer is 3-3/4 x 3", then the next layer is a further 1/4" smaller, so 3-1/2 x 2-34" in my case.

Add a any other decoration you wish, but bear in mind that this is likely to spend time in a pocket or hand bag, so make sure it is not too bulky or likely to catch on other items.
