Craft Fair and using up Retired DSP

Wow, what a great day we had at the Village Fete at North Moreton on Sunday. It was fantastic to meet so many people and have a good natter about village life and crafting.

One of the items I had available for sale was Gift Bags made out of soon to be retired Designer Series Papers and Ribbons. I think Gift Bags are such a great standby for that last minute gift wrapping emergency; pop a nice bar of soap or a candle in a gift bag and you are good to go. And what could be easier than making these with our fantastic Gift Bag Punch Board. There is almost no measuring involved and the instructions are printed on the board, making it even easier.

The punch board says it can make just three sizes of bag, but this really is misleading. There are three widths available, but you can make the depth/height as large or small as you want. The smallest recommended size for your piece of paper is 10 x 4", which makes the sweetest little bag, and the largest size is 12 x 12", which is the size I use in the video, which was probably a little ambitions given the restrictions of filming!

Although it is not part of the instructions provided, on the larger (taller) bags, I score the top of the paper I am going to use at 3/4" and fold that to what will be the inside of the bag, before I punch the holes across the top. This gives a more professional finish to the bag.

I hope this has given you a few ideas both for easy gift wrapping ideas, but also for using up a few bits of Designer Series Papers.
