Normally I hate having to tidy up, but this time it was great, because I found stamp sets that I had forgotten I had. I don't mean that they were lost as such, I just hadn't registered them particularly well, so had not been using them. One of these was the Hostess set I have used for this project.
This is another one of those really quick projects that work so well because the people at Stampin' Up! have done all the hard work by providing us with products that match across the range. In this example I have used Flirty Flamingo as my main colour, using Cardstock, Ink and Ribbon in that 2016-2018 InColour; they all match, and this would otherwise be a very difficult colour because it straddles the orange/red part of the spectrum.
I chose to use Basic Grey to stamp the outline and sentiment as I wanted a softer look, I then used Old Olive and Flirty Flamingo Ink and stamped solid images twice (slightly offsetting each time), but stamped off first so there is a softer edge, but a more definite colour in the middle of the stamped area. My thought was that this would give more of a watercolour effect, and I am really pleased with how it came out and will definitely be using this technique, and the stamp set, again.
