Today is a Colour Challenge, which can be a wee bit difficult on occasions. We usually get give three colours and can add White, Black, Crumb Cake and Vanilla. Today was oddly tough though as we were given White, Night of Navy and a Free Choice. This I found really hard, with all those wonderful colours to choose from, which to pick?
Well you will see that I went for Melon Mambo, which may not be much of a surprise to those of you who follow my ramblings at all regularly, as this runs a close second to my absolute favourite of Bermuda Bay (which I did try, but was not right for this particular project). I already knew I was going to use Touches of Texture, as I have been having lots of fun with that set stamping on my swaps for OnStage. I also know I wanted to use an embossing folder, so grabbed the Seaside one and turned it through 90 degrees to provide the vertical pattern. The washi tape is from the Watercolour Wishes Card Kit, the ribbon is the Melon Mambo 1/8" stitched ribbon, and the sentiment is from Places You'll Go.
Oh, and if you are wondering which die I used for the stamped layer, this is the Stitched Shapes Framelits, but 'stretched' to form a rectangle. The trick is careful positioning of the cutting plates and a little bit of washi tape to keep everything in place. I may have to think about a video on this; we will see.
I hope you like my project. If you want to give it a go, jump over to my online shop and grab the supplies listed below.
