When the Spring/Summer Catalogue came out I really wasn't smitten by the Cupcakes & Carousels Suite, and as I have to draw a line somewhere on my purchases, it just didn't make the cut, other than the paper stack, which I could see myself using. I took a look at the samples and saw that some of the Design Team had cut out the Carousel Ponies from the paper stack, so I wondered if this was the way to go. Then I remembered that the Up & Away Thinlits and the Lift Me Up stamps (which I bought as a bundle, saving myself 10%) have cupcakes in them.
With this thought in mind and knowing that one of the stamps in the Cupcake & Carousel set is a Ferris Wheel of Cupcakes, I had the seed of an idea, but it depended on one crucial piece of equipment being to hand.
After a bit of digging, I found what I needed, a needle with an eye just large enough to take bakers twine! I grabbed some Peekaboo Peach 12 x 12 card, cut it in half for my card base and then got to work with the needle and twine to make the struts for a Ferris Wheel. Stamped and cut a dozen cupcake tops and bases with the Big Shot a bit of glimmer paper, sentiment, lots of dimensionals, and I was done.
I am pleased with the result and hope you enjoy it too. Go and take a look at the other entries and the Design Team samples for lots of inspiration (just click on the Global Design Project Challenge logo above to reach the site).
