Metallic Merry Patterns and Top Tip Advent 9 - #224

Light Around the World Advent Day 8 - #223

I know there were a few concerns about my candle wrap project earlier in this series because card and a flame are not a good combination, so it is with a little concern that I am bringing another candle project today. This time I hope it is clear that this is packaging only 😉😉

I love the Christmas Around the World Paper, it gives me such a warm feeling when I look at it, with lots of childhood memories, which is perfect for Christmas.

The project is super thrifty as you can get three box bases from one piece of A4 card, eight lids from one sheet of Window Sheet and six belly bands from one sheet of DSP. Now that is what I call getting the most from your supplies.

Smitten Mittens Advent Day 7 - #222

Am I the only person who had fond Childhood memories of mittens being strung together and threaded through you coat sleeves so you would not loose them? As soon as I saw this Stamp set and dies (order as a Bundle to save 10%), that was the memory which came back to me. I remember that it didn't solve the problem of soggy mittens from too much Snowman building, but at least you knew where your cold wet mittens were!

Happily today's cute card is sending 'warm and fuzzy thoughts' and I think it is just a perfect card for pretty much anyone, you could change the colour of the gloves to suit the recipient.

I love the effect that using the mini tinsel trim gives too; just enough sparkle, but not so much as to detract from the main feature of the gloves themselves.

I love candles at the best of times, but at Christmas they add so much atmosphere that I seem to end up with them everywhere. I love to gift them too, and I think this is a great way of dressing up an inexpensive item and turning it into something a little special.

These candles are from Ikea (so should be available in most countries), but it would be very easy to adapt this project to slightly different sized candles.

O Tannenbaum Advent Day 5 - #220

Obviously the clue is in the title for this one, the Christmas Tree is the main feature of this card, but there are a few less obvious items too. Did you spot the heat embossing on the tree and the gold foil behind the focal point?

What about the textured embossing on the Always Artichoke layer? I think that adds so much to the card, whilst not being too obtrusive.

After the fun of yesterday's little Santa, this is a more formal and grown up card, but none the less special. Which do you prefer?

Advent Day 4 - Introducing Stampin Blends - #219

Did you spot that Stampin' Blends are being launched to customers on 1st November (my Birthday)? I could not wait to share these with you, so here is a quick project using these amazing pens.

I loved the Cookie-Cutter Stamp Set when it was launched in last year's Autumn Winter Catalogue, so was delighted when it carried over to the Annual Catalogue. It is perfect paired with our 3x3 Mini Envelopes to make small cards or gift tags (I believe this size is too small to go through International Postage, but it is fine in the UK - there are no minimum dimensions provided on the Royal Mail Website for UK letters).

The Blends are so easy to use and although there is no Real Red in the current collection, using the two shades of Cherry Cobbler do make a very good Real Red. How cute are these little cards?

Advent Day 3 THAT Mini Pizza Box - #218

You have been asking for this project, so here it is......That Mini Pizza Box. What is interesting about making a video of a project I made a couple of months ago, was remembering exactly how I made the project in the first place! So this was a bit of a walk down memory lane.

Anyway, it came together without too much problem and the results are very similar, so I must have got most of it right!

Apart for a LOT of die cutting, this is actually a really easy project to put together for the more experienced crafter. You could cut out the heat embossing on the sides of the box, but I think they do add a little extra something, something. Have a go and please share your versions with me.

Today brings a second first, so as well as this being the first of the series, it is also the first time I have made a Cracker Box. I have made this using the Envelope Punch Board, which makes way more than just envelopes. The measurements are below, but if you need more details, just follow the link to my YouTube tutorial.

13 Days of Halloween LAST DAY! - #215

I am hoping you will agree that I have saved the best to last! The Detailed Gate dies are to die for!! I have been waiting to use these and they have not disappointed.

Add a bit of sponged inking, a couple of stamps and you are pretty much done, and I really do think it is stunning. I used a slightly odd colour scheme, but it gave me the exact look I was going for.

I used the sponge brayers, but you could use Stampin' Sponges instead, just remember that a light hand is key to getting the look without obvious lines. And who knew that my absolute favourite stamp set, High Tides, could come in for some Halloween fun?

A simple challenge really as it is a Theme of 'Festive', which could be any celebration. As this falls within my Halloween series, I thought I would do two versions, one Halloween and one Christmas, using the fantastic, and FREE, Merry Patterns Hostess stamp set.

I must thank Dena Rekow for the inspiration behind this project, it has also set my mind running on some other ideas with the embossing folder, but more of that (possibly already!! - the joys of posting out of sequence).


Dare I say, what is not to love about a reindeer in a Nordic jumper? I am really looking forward to making a few more cards with this exclusive stamp set.
