High Tide goes to High Wycombe

Some of you may be aware that I was part of a small team of Demonstrators who manned (or womanned!) a pop up shop in High Wycombe over three days last weekend. We were running free card making sessions, live demonstrations and had some amazing projects on display.

These are just a few of the shots of me at the event.

The video below shows you how to make the project that I took along to demonstrate on the first day.

This uses one of my favourite sets, High Tide', which I think is a lot more versatile than many give it credit for.

I Thank You - Part 3

Another small gift project for you today, this time for Tic Tacs. This is a cute little bag/box using the Tag Topper Punch; who said it was just for Tags?

This is a great way of using up those long thin strips of Designer Series Paper that we all seem to end up with. Just a 10 x 3" (25.5 x 7.5 cm) piece will make this cute little gift look so special.

This project also give you a sneak peek of the new Pretty Label Punch and is a reminder that there are some very useful sentiments hidden in the most surprising places. OH, and did I mention that some of these products are discounted?!?!?!

I Thank you - Part 2

So I am on a bit of a mission to promote small acts of Thanks that do not involve an email or a Facebook Post, but an actual thoughtful small act. I am not proposing that we all dash off and spend huge amount of money, just that we take a few small items that someone may like or enjoy, and gift package them. Or you could just make a card that is heartfelt, just something that actually tells the recipient that you appreciate what they have done, how ever small.

Today I have a little box of lip balm to share with you. We all seem to have these in our handbags, so why not gift one to someone in pretty packaging; and it take such a small piece of paper. Just a piece of 5 x 5" Designer Series Paper, some ribbon and a few scraps and you have turned something everyday and mundane into a special gift.

I used Blooms and Bliss with Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper and Stitched Satin Ribbon for the original, as well as the 2016-2018 InColour Enamel Shapes. The paper and ribbon are no longer available, but the Glimmer Paper is, and reduced from £4.50 to £3.60, as are the Enamel Shapes, which are reduced from £8.25 to £4.13, so now is the moment to grab yours. The 'live' version is in Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper with Very Vanilla Stitched Satin Ribbon, both of these are still available, the paper is reduced from £11.75 to just £8.23. They both use the Blossom Bunch Punch, which is still available and reduced from £16.00 to £11.20.

The stamp is from the Jar of Love, which will be in the new catalogue, but if you want the Bundle with the dies you MUST get it before the end of May if you want the 10% discount. I mean, if you want to pay more, then please wait until the new catalogue launches, I really won't mind!

I Thank You! - Part 1

I understand from friends and family with children, that this is a time of year when it has become common to thank various people, particularly Teachers. It is with this in mind that I have created this card, however, for me it is ALWAYS the time of year to thank people and I think we do far too little of it, or when we do remember, we send a brief, often multi recipient, email.

What a difference it would make to someone if they were to receive a handmade card. They would know that you had taken the time a trouble to craft this amazing item for them. Even if it is not the most intricate piece of work, they will feel appreciated so much more than a slightly impersonal email or cursory 'Thank You' in passing.
